One of my obsessions over the duration of this course became understanding, defining, boxing revolution and my lens of studying it, the humanities. I’ve worked so hard to try and understand what defines these terms that I missed the entirety of the exercise. Revolution nor humanities is about a box, clearly defining what is and what is not; this course has taught me that time and time again. Rather, I see this process as an exploration into our own conceptual schemes, reflecting on the process of how we have come to understand these central terms through a personal and intellectual lens.
I use my definition of revolution to reflect on what I’ve learned about revolution inside and outside of the classroom, working on crafting my definition even during my two semesters and summer dividing my HUM 103 and HUM 104 classes. Through this abnormally long span of time, I’ve been able to craft who I was and how that has ebbed and flowed since my arrival at Davidson College.
With the humanities/ Humanities definitions, FILL THIS IN AND DO NOT FORGET!!!!
